The big news for us the next several months is that we're celebrating our 50th year in business.
I thought that these early pictures of Mr. Outboards and Ike Smith himself were interesting.
Here is Ike at our open house.
Here too is a photo of Ike with his daughter at our open house.
While walking at High Cliff on Lake Winnebago just before ice out, I was amazed at what I saw. On the ice stretching for a half mile along the shoreline were literally millions of dead Gizzard Shad. I went back a few days later after ice out for pictures and only got a few of the remnants left along the beach. A strong North East wind had blown everything away. D.N.R. personal there told me the die off occurred with the fast water temperature change in January. Apparently Gizzard Shad are not very hardy and these die offs can be common. It was the sheer numbers of dead fish and there size that impressed me. Most of them were in the 14" to 18" size range.
